it's the last week of school.
i'm so free these days, hehe..
tat's why u see blog entries posted every other night :D
back from a long day at work. Today was the "Meet the Parent's Session".
i believed just the thought of teachers meeting our parents gets us on our toes when we were still schooling.
With roles reversed, now that i AM the teacher, i find the session as nerve-wreaking as when i was a still a kid.
haha...
but with the parents being very supportive and happy with everything just assures me that i've done a good job over the year.
:) sometimes, it's just one encouraging word from them that makes a whole lot of difference, making it seem that everything we've worked hard for the children is all worthwhile.
a parent of one of my kids called yesterday to inform me she would be coming at 515pm after she knocks off from work.
when i was half way talking to another child's parents around 230pm, the mother suddenly appeared at the door of my classroom and started shouting at the top of her voice at her son.
and then
she raised her arm, swept her hand and gave her son a forceful slap across the face!
a few 'gasps' were heard across the room.
then,
total silence.
i was so shocked i just stared...
the other parents too, stunned, stared with their mouths open.
found out that the boy was supposed to take the school bus to the childcare centre but didn't cos he wanted to stay in school to wait for his mother to come at 515pm... Ended up the childcare centre teachers got worried when they did not see him, they called up his mom telling her that her son was lost. That sent his mom rushing all the way from her workplace to the school only to find her son here.
i guess that was why she got so fired up that she hit him.
After the whole session, the mom went back to work and i had a pep-talk with the boy.
i asked him if he understood why his mom had hit him and he replied, "because i forgot.."
i told him the reason why his mom reacted in such a way is not becos she was angry but was worried sick for his safety, and tat was ONLY becos she loves him so.
sometimes, we express our love very differently.
and the boy started tearing..
my heart broke.
poor kid... haiz.. i dont blame his mom for being so violent in discipling the child becos it's really not easy to bring up a child single-handedly.. i pity these kids sometimes.. family problems at home is really not something they can choose or have control over.
on our side, we can only counsel him.
haiz..
enuff' said abt work.
time to update on the sales @
Zouk's Flea&Easy yesterday, hehe :D
brother was very nice, he fetched aunt from her place and then drove us to Zouk!
ah dear was already there setting up the booth when we reached almost @ 1pm.
he got our clothes rack ready so Aunt and i only needed to hang our clothes, hehe..

okay, i know.. u dont have to tell me that my aunt is doing all the work while i pose for the camera, having the same smile plastered across my face.
keke...
the sales wasnt too good though.. unlike the last time when we sold our stuff 3 months ago.
human traffic flow was relatively slower..
WHERE HAVE ALL THE PEOPLE GONE ?!??!?!(*all flocking to the car motor show instead -_- TSK)anyway, i managed to earn ~120 bucks from the flea sale.
gonna save that money up.. NO SHOPPING ALLOWED..
actually i've been really GOOD.. yes, im FASTING--> from shopping..
and im darn proud of myself..
haha! had not been buying clothes (so unlike me!) for 2 months already :)
SAVING UP SAVING UP!!!
*to go BKK buy, MUAHAHAHHHAAaaa...:p
anyway, there was this girl who really pissed us off by bargaining and naming the most ridiculous price..
she was looking at the necklace wilson was selling @ 10 bucks and she lamented on how expensive it was.
She said, "10 dollars arh? discount lah... 1 dollar can?" she did that for almost EVERYTHING she laid her hands on..
in the end, dear got fed up and barked back, "1 dollar? you Go market buy la!!"
the girl then walked over to our side. She liked this tank top i was selling for 7 bucks and said, "1 dollar la.. 1 dollar i buy."
i couldnt be bothered with her but my aunt was still very patient, telling her it was impossible to sell it to her at such a low price..
that girl insisted she wanted it for a dollar, so my aunt gave her this pink (seriously UGLY) halter neck top (1 dollar niah) and said, "nah..u can have it for 1 dollar."
and guess what that girl said?
"AiYohhhh!! this kind, is for YOU (referring to my aunt) not for me lahh.. this kind so orbiang one..suit u la!"
HOW RUDE WAS THAT!!!
last straw.
i stood up and said, "sorry, No discount, Not selling to you anymore. Go away..!! "
i really cannot stand people who are downright uncouth!!
but my aunt was really an angel.. she can still smile and tell her we could sell the tank top @ a discounted price of 5 bucks.. I was soooooo unwilling to sell it!!! i rather buy 5-bucks worth of cowdung to fertilise the ground than to earn it from that ill-mannered freak!!!
anyway,
sorry ground.
cos she bought my tank top.
