...to blog about our day-trip to Gardens by the Bay :)
I mentioned in my previous entries that i must make it a point to visit the Gardens in broad daylight, and when the boss gave an Off day on Tuesday, boyfriend and i jumped at the chance!

YAY!
It was a weekday morning, so there weren't many visitors (thankfully!)
It feels like we're on an overseas trip! Not that the place looks absolutely foreign, but it's the feeling of knowing that you're to experience something new for the entire day!

such tranquil waters, haha

Jayden and i were super excited!
It was an impromptu decision to buy his shades from Aldo and a Puma cap for myself before reaching Marina Bay. Cos the sun was too glaring and we didn't want to get ourselves ChaoTah-ed. I even bought a sunscreen from Guardian and swathed ourselves in it. Very cheap nia! Got discount somemore, cost 5 bucks for one Guardian brand 50SPF sunscreen, wahaha...

Taking a few shots at the entrance.

This is Chinese Garden. They got Indian garden, Malay garden etc... -_-

Found a random horse at dunno which race garden.. haha

Oh yeah Venus, u are so right. I've gotten the Tartan blouse instead, hehe
This reminds me of HongKong cable car ticketing counters!
SO LOVE *reminisce*

We bought tickets to Cloud Forest + Flower Bloom and OCBC Skywalk!

Singaporeans got discount! (20 bucks rather than 28 for non-SG) and NTUC card members also got 2 dollar discount! hehe. The OCBC Skywalk is an additional of 5 buck each.

The lighting was nice to take a photo, hehe

Took a self-timer shot! Too bad i didn't bring the tripod stand :( Had to prop the camera on things at awkward angles.

We're at the entrance of Cloud Forest (conservatory)

it was soooooo cooling inside!! i love love love this place!!!! (especially in such unbearable heat outdoors)
WAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........!!!!! Yes that was my reaction when i stepped in!

:)

take a look on the inside...

There are many different species of flowers and plants in here, but i think i'm more interested in the cool temperature aka. air-con.

Happiness*

Took the lift to level 6 and walked up to the 7th floor.

Self-shot :)

Couple shot ♥

We reached this place..

Look!
Is this the pitcher plant that we read in our Primary school science books?

close-up

Up close shots of flowers...

There are so many flowers here boyfriend was tempted to pluck one for me...

...which of cos he didn't, cos there're so many surveillance cameras pointing at us, haha
wahhh...

How come they can predict what we're gonna do?!!

:)

we look stunted! haha.. This was taken using a mirror hanging above us.

After that, we found ourselves at this Batman cave..

Are this crystals? Minerals?

Jayden says this can ward off evil

We then came to this place where it was showing some documentary on global warming at +5°C.

By 2020, our earth would be 5 degree Celsius warmer.. leaving most living organisms extinct.
The moral of the story?
♫
"Save my World, Save my World (come on and)
Save my World, Save my World (why won't you)" ♫
That, by the way, is a nice song with a very catchy tune ;)
We were so famished after walking around that we ended up in Bakerzin

Boyfriend's Curry Chicken with bread and my Linguine Vongole

After lunch (food not very nice thou'), we headed to OCBC Skywalk!

On our way.....
that cheeky expression on Jayden's face... i know what he's up to -___-!

WHY do guys ALWAYS like to do this when they see a stream of water like this?!! Lol

YAY

These are what they call the "SUPER TREES".. i wasn't in the mood for any educational stuff.. so didn't really go and find out how these 'trees' help in improving the environment.....or do they?
The hanging bridge. Quite scary when we walk through it, cos there're some morons jumping and swaying the bridge.

Are u afraid of heights?

The view from the bridge

Poseur

Other than the scenery and taking photos here, there're really nothing much for the 5 dollars. We do see alot of couples taking their bridal shots here though.

My favourite of the Gardens is this...

Water COOLERS!!!! super love it! Free drinking water from.... nearby (Marina Barrage?)
After walking in the sweltering heat, we adjourned to the next conservatory - Flower Bloom :)

Found a bench and plopped ourselves down! NEED SOME REST!!!

In one minute.... zZZ!

We found alot of cactus here

..in different shapes and sizes

EeeYUK!
WTH... is this a cactus that kena some kind of virus?!

A small patch of soil with some cute tiny cactus..and crystal(?) minerals (?)

LENS FLARE! :D

Took self-timer shots again! ;D
Came out from toilet...
We saw this place in the conservatory! If you look carefully, there's a place where you can hold a banquet dinner!

Was thinking it's a nice venue to hold a wedding dinner.. (no, we're not planning for ours yet, haha) but just thinking it's rather novel. Then the guests can take photos with all the flowers outside.. it would be quite exciting.
However, the question is... do guests need to pay the 20 dollar entrance fee to get into the conservatory if they're invited to a wedding banquet here?
Lots of mozzies

nice right the flowers!?!?!??!

More close up shots of the flowers here!

Zi-lian with my favourite flower -ROSE!

After that, we had ice-cream!!!
i bought a Sakura flavour one! Come see flowers must also eat flower-favoured ice-cream

Verdict: NOT NICE TO EAT
Took jump shots before leaving the Gardens.

Failed shot 1

Failed shot 2 -_-
Old liao really cannot take jump shots lor! Wan to die just jumping around. I think i sprained my buttock muscles or something!
Self-timer shot again, hehe

sun was setting

Last shot of me posing with a random statue

We had dinner at Popeye's near Singapore Flyer before heading home.
Fun trip! :D
More Off days plweaseee!
