and at a click of my mouse, i'm able to purchase it there and then! in the comfort of my own home. hehe...
and of cos, it's obviously not very healthy for my poor bank account.
but it's really so much more convenient!
and most importantly, i think the clothes are much more fashionable than the ones we see at the malls.
Even if we happen to find such imports in our local boutiques, they cost almost 2-3 times more than if we purchase them right from their websites!!
FYI, i'm definitely NOT referring to local websites like SHOPLAH cos the quality of their clothes totally suck. i reckon that they upload nice photos taken from overseas websites but import low-quality imitations from somewhere else. well, i might be wrong, cos maybe they themselves are victims who do not even know they have been cheated.
The 'How-To's of online shopping
1. Try to get feedback from previous buyers if possible to ensure that the clothes are of good quality.
2. Check the measurements. 'Free-size' would be rather risky... BUT, if the measurements are stated, it might just fit u nicely! =)
Of cos, it would be best if the model's stats are stated as well so u can see if the clothes look fitting on her. Makes it easier to compare with ur own stats.
3. Scrutinize the photos carefully. If the photo is very small and appears to be in low resolution, chances are, u might just be deceived into thinking that the stuff looks prettier than it actually is.
4. Make sure there are photos taken from different angles of the clothes, and the model is not cleverly covering any part of the clothes or in an awkward posture that might prevent u from spotting any 'flaws'.
This one looks like her blouse is toooo loose and yet she's trying very hard to convince u into thinking it's actually very fitting -_-
5. Flowery prints and frills are very, very risky.
chances are, the prints would be too hideous to be even worn out!
*and Never buy the clothes that seem to be taken from a magazine or have weird letterings and design behind.
6. Lighting is the next important thing to check. Most likely, the clothes would look very nice under harsh lighting, but the real thing might differ in colour. Check the skin tone of the models. If they appear very, very fair, expect the clothes to be a shade darker than what u see from ur monitor screen.
7. Practice makes perfect. I did end up buying lots of clothes which got discarded somewhere in my wardrobe never to be worn once. But experience always result in a better purchase the next time round.
8. Lastly, once bitten twice shy. U can prolly give the website another chance (though i dont recommend), maybe like a year later.. hopefully they've changed their supplier to a more reliable one.

Though it was quite a long wait for the clothes to arrive, i still think it's all worth it! :D
